What makes IndysDogs different?

A bit about me, Mary, your dog sitter, care giver and groomer. I was raised in Avon, Indiana with cattle surrounding my home, sharing my life with dogs and cats. In 1979 I went to work for the local groomer bathing, drying and brushing out dogs. Life made shifts and I became a mom and spent quite some time raising my boys, then in 1994 my life went to the dogs, so to speak! With my two (now grown) sons at my side, we started participating in dog shows & performance events and I started boarding, grooming and showing dogs for other owners. I published two dog magazines for over 15 years, and continue to educate myself on canine behavior, care and management. I work hard at making this easier for you!

With your pet here while you are at work or on vacation, it will be more similar to them being in their own home without the intrusion of someone in your home. We keep either a tv or radio on for the guests. We do not use concrete kennel runs with dog doors, or indoor potty areas as we feel those teach bad house habits. Instead, they have time outside in a secure large yard with grass, trees, play equipment, toys and sunshine.

We do not expect them to have to "go" only two or three times a day, and we feel this helps to keep healthy dogs as well as consistent good house manners and allows for good exercise - we all know a tired dog is a good dog! We are happy to send photos/video during their stay so you can see how they are doing!

A clean environment leads to healthy dogs! Our dog daycare, boarding and grooming areas are mopped and sanitized three times a day, our pea gravel runs and porch are sanitized daily (weather permitting). All linens and bedding is changed daily. Crates are sanitized every morning and indoor pens every night.

To maintain healthy dogs, health and vaccination verification is required, however we do not require that your dog be spayed or neutered!
